ANSWER 3
Experimenting with materials and media?
This is another vital area of assessment,
but perhaps it has a place later within your portfolio. Many art teachers begin lower level courses with experimentation. This is fine, a student can play with materials and techniques without having to worry about exams looming. At 'AS', 'A' level and Degree, however, time is precious and every minute of your time needs to be carefully structured. Before you know it the assessment will be looming and a wonderful state of panic about to set in.
So, keep the experimentation structured to suit the direction of your enquiries into the subject. Think about how you can enhance your 'still-life' work with multi-approach methods and techniques and how strange and wonderful materials can enhance that body of work.
So perhaps then you should think about this appearing in your journal a little later on?
