It has been said that Martins work is a reflection on outer space images as well as imagery of our own earth
.
Using colours, texture and mostly large scale, the work asks for you to decide what you see, imagine and experience.
Calming and hypnotic each painting has the strength to form its own identity. I wish my work to offer a catalyst to your thoughts.

Its your journey
I enjoy working with different techniques of painting, producing exciting and imaginative mixes of texture, colour and mood.
Each painting starts with carefully selected colours and paint mediums put together to give maximum impact. I use acrylic along side oils and household paints such as gloss and satin. Then pouring the paint onto the board the paint is pressed and smeared using another board of same dimensions or other flat implements.
As the image is created in stages the final outcome is when I feel the work has reached its conclusion (When the image has reached an exciting point and the painting is complete)
As we use a mix of paint bases (oils cellulose water base etc) we see these react to one another, which adds to the dramatic outcome.
Balance is the essence of the finished piece and then from here on the painting takes on its own destiny.
