ARTIST'S STATEMENT
"I'm
inspired by the figurative work of Rodin, which combines artistic detail with human emotion, which I feel is essential for the birth of great art. Learning and evolving from the study of artists like Rodin is my daily goal.
In the bust of Dylan Thomas I tried to represent the great poet in a forlorn pose. This, I feel, was a strong emotional characteristic within the man and I hope that I have conveyed that feeling within the bust.
Whilst many monumental sculptures are technically precise, I belive that they often lack an emotional element which invokes life within the piece."
