ARTISTS STATEMENT:
"For most people, the appreciation of nature is dependent only on sight, they look at the ‘landscape’ whereas the true appreciation of nature begins by using all of the senses - touch, smell, hearing, taste, as well as sight.
In my work I try to capture more than just the visual representation of the natural world. By reproducing textures that are found in nature and also by using natural materials, I hope to convey a real sense of the natural world, and also to show that there is beauty in the most common of sites."

Beth Amner’s triptych (left and below) is a substantial piece of work. Her use of mixed-media
is exciting, sand and other objects from the location, are added to the canvas, creating more than just a visual image of the scene. The textures beg interaction with the work.
