Artists Statement:
My work is a combination of imagination, memory and observation. One of the main areas of inspiration is landscape, both the visible and the invisible world. I try to capture specific moments, parts of places and certain evocative elements found within the landscape.
Through my work I want to present my empathy for the environment and the affinity which I feel for the natural and spiritual world. My work is concerned with the cycle of life, reflecting the past, present and future. I have found that I can say things with materials, colours and shapes that I cannot communicate in any other way.”

I was born and bred in Aberystwyth on the west coast of Wales. I spent over fifteen years living and working in Cardiff. There I worked for the Welsh National Opera Company, B & S Exhibitions International and The National Museum of Wales.
I possess a degree in both Fine Art and Graphic Design.
I now live in Swansea and at the present time I am lecturing in Art & Design at Gorseinon College of Further Education.
I am grateful for my existance, it constantly reminds me of the meta-physical nature of life and the almost unbearable lightness of being. My paintings are fragments of this quiet existance.

"The symbol does not exist to define anything or to represent anything or to explain anything. The symbol is an instrument of evocation, to set into motion an articulation of the soul, and the soul articulates the mystery of its own life"
