Congratulations to Xu Bing, the inaugural winner of the Artes Mundi prize, beating off stiff competition from internationally renown artists like Wales' own Tim Davies.
The highest prize in world art, of £40,000, was awarded to the China born New York resident artist for his installation entitled "Where Does the Dust Collect Itself?", a piece of work constructed from dust collected from the scene of the 9-11 tragedy.
XU said, "It is an honour to win this first Artes Mundi prize in Wales."
